Volunteer

Blackbird Ranch is a 100% volunteer run organization. We offer volunteer opportunities to members of the community, students from Washington State University and the University of Idaho. Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with amazing animals in a low stress, relaxing environment. Our volunteers help with a variety of hands-on tasks including cleaning animal enclosures, mucking barns, grooming animals, feeding and watering, socializing with the animals, assisting with upkeep of the sanctuary, repairing fencing, and providing enrichment. Many volunteers enjoy spending quality time with the animals during their shift by giving belly rubs to the pigs, ear massages to donkeys, getting cow kisses and snuggling goats. The animals are sure to leave you with a smile and a warm heart after volunteering at Blackbird Ranch.

All volunteers must attend a new volunteer orientation (held once a month) prior to volunteering.
