Goats

Dumbledore

Dumbledore is an angora goat, who was saved from Halal slaughter, in March of 2019. He was lucky to make it out from being slaughtered, all because of the kindness of others in the organization @dairycalfundergroundrailroad, who saw his intrinsic value and viewed him as someone not something. Dumbledore is the funniest little goat and such a big personality here at Blackbird Ranch. His long angora hair makes it look like he’s wearing baggy pajamas that are ten sizes too big! He is so fun loving, playful and is really starting to build trust with humans, which is amazing considering his past interactions with humans was not so nice. Dumbledore prefers the company of sheep, and probably thinks he’s a sheeple himself, although he’s starting to come around more with the other goats as well. We, and everyone who meets Dumbledore, fall madly in love with this goofy little wizard goat.

Benny

Benny came to us, along with his twin brother, Joon, in March of 2019. These boys were rescued from a hoarding situation where extreme neglect had been taking place. They were starving all winter, and so thin that you could see every rib and vertebrae. Their hooves were so overgrown they could barely walk. The property they came from had dead farm animals strewn about, just decomposing out in the open. It’s a miracle these boys survived the winter. Benny is a total goofball. He has super long, gangly legs and is extremely playful. Benny is super loving and will nudge you for head rubs. Despite the conditions he came from, he is so surprisingly trusting of people. His favorite pastime is playing head-butt competitions with his brother, snuggling with Joon and trying to climb up on the pine trees to reach the tall branches. Benny loves to be brushed, loves carrot snacks, hugs and goat snuggles. If you’re lucky he’ll even give you a goat smoochie!

Joon

Joon came to us, along with his twin brother, Benny, last March. Joon is a silly little goat. He has super long legs, almost to the point where they look too tall for his body! He frolics around like a gangly newborn deer! Joon has a very inquisitive personality and is much more trusting than he was when he arrived. His favorite pastime is playing head-butt competitions with his brother and galloping all over goat hill. Joon loves to be brushed, loves carrot snacks, hugs and goat snuggles. If you’re lucky he’ll even give you a goat smoochie!
